What happens if there is severe weather?

None of  the tents or shelters in Malone Park are suitable for protection from Lightning, Torrential Rain, High Winds or Tornados. The approaching threat of Severe Weather may cause the festival grounds to be evacuated.

What happens to the carnival rides if there is a storm during the 4th of July Festival?

Accepted Answer

If storms with a history of lightning approach the festival, the elevated carnival rides will be shut down until the threat passes.

Is there "Reserved Parking?"

Accepted Answer

These parking spaces are open to those who need accessible parking. Spaces are not assigned and only available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Question 4

Should we bring our own chairs for the duration of fireworks or drone show?

Accepted Answer

Yes – attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating during both the fireworks and drone show.

Are carry-in items permitted? (IE food or drinks)

Accepted Answer

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, outside items such as food, drinks, and coolers, are not allowed to be brought into the venue/festival grounds.

How long does the shuttle service run?

Accepted Answer

Durham School Bus Services will be transporting festival-goers between Ronald Reagan School and the festival grounds — with additional stops at the ARC!

Park at Ronald Reagan School (4225 S. Calhoun Rd, New Berlin, WI) and hop on a FREE shuttle to the Festival Grounds.

Shuttle Stops Include:
 New Berlin Activity & Recreation Center
 Ronald Reagan Grade School (outer parking lot)
 Festival Grounds – pick-up/drop-off at the crosswalk on the north side of National Ave., just west of Casper Dr.

Shuttle Hours:
Thursday July 2nd & Saturday, July 4th 
4:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Shuttles will run in conjunction with Drone Show and Fireworks. If either of those are canceled, so would the shuttle.

How should I prepare for the festival?

Accepted Answer

We recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes, as portions of the park are currently under construction and some walking surfaces may be uneven. The festival is held outdoors, so be prepared for the weather by bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and any other sun protection you may need. Staying hydrated and protecting yourself from the sun will help you enjoy your day at the festival!

Yes! the drone show audio will be available to listen in the charity tents. if you are away of ear shot of the tents, we reccomend bringing a bluetooth speaker and connecting to the audio link below:

Question 10

Can I fly my drone during the festival or parade?

Accepted Answer

You may fly your drone to view the festival or parade during daylight hours; however, you must comply with certain FAA regulations to include the following:
                - No flying or hovering above people
                - Keep the drone within visual line of sight
                - Fly at or below 400ft altitude
                - Do not interfere with law enforcement drone operations

Can I use my drone to view the drone show and/or the fireworks?

NO. It is illegal to fly drones at night without a waiver from the FAA.

Can I ride my bike, e-bike, or scooter in the park during the festival?

Accepted Answer

While there is currently no City ordinance prohibiting e-bikes or scooters in the park, we strongly discourage riding bicycles, e-bikes and scooters within the festival grounds. The festival attracts large crowds, creating heavy pedestrian traffic, and portions of the park are under construction with uneven terrain and limited smooth riding surfaces. For everyone's safety, we encourage visitors to walk their bike or scooter through the park or leave it at a bike rack or other secure location before enjoying the festival.
